David W. Sweeney Successfully Lobbies for AK St. Louis Owner, LLC for Real Estate Incentives on a 30-Story Apartment Tower in CWE

On Friday, February 3, St. Louis Board of Aldermen approved tax breaks for several major developments, including a luxury apartment tower in the Central West End. Lewis Rice member David W. Sweeney lobbied on behalf of AK St. Louis Owner, LLC, which is made up of the development team of Koplar Properties and Albion Residential. The proposed legislation faced tough opposition from the area's alderman, but Friday's vote resulted in an 18-8 approval for financing the project. Koplar Properties estimates the project will invest $135 million into St. Louis, increase property tax revenue by 400%, create 450 union construction jobs, among other community benefits.
