Ronald A. Norwood Contributes to ‘End to affirmative action leaves uncertainty in the legal field’

Ronald A. Norwood, Lewis Rice member and chairman of the firm's Diversity Equity & Inclusion Committee, contributed to "End to affirmative action leaves uncertainty in the legal field," an article featured in Missouri Lawyers Media about the Supreme Court's recent decision to end affirmative action in college admissions and the potential impact on corporate DEI efforts.

The article noted that Ron expects a decreased pipeline of law school graduates of color that will result in a legal field that is even less representative of the Missouri African American population than is the case today. The article went on to note that according to the most recent data, 11.7% of Missourians are Black or African American, while 4.9% of Missouri Bar Association members self-identified that way. Every other minority group is also underrepresented among Missouri lawyers, as are women.
