Basics to Protect Yourself and Your Business

On Thursday, May 2, Lewis Rice member Billee McAuliffe will participate in a panel discussion at the 2024 Missouri Employment, Training, Benefits & Wellness Conference. This seminar will cover the basics of cybersecurity, from threat identification through the multiple levels of protection. Billee will first explore the various types of threats businesses face. After understanding the threat landscape, she will then discuss how businesses should engage in various types of prevention, along with the various technologies and other measures that businesses can implement to prevent or avoid those threats. She will address the importance of training and educating a workforce to spot and prevent cyber events. Then, she will look at outside forces and review how businesses can use security assessments and auditing of their vendors and service providers’ security positioning to protect themselves. Finally, she will discuss how having appropriate provisions in your contracts can be crucial to blocking attacks from those with whom you do business.

Billee Elliott McAuliffe serves as the Practice Group Leader for the Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice group at Lewis Rice. She practices in the Firm's Corporate Department, with a particular focus on information technology (IT).
