Lewis Rice member Christian T. Gordon has been named a 2026 KC Legal Leader by Missouri Lawyers Media, an honor recognizing the outstanding attorneys and legal professionals who are shaping the Kansas City legal community through leadership, innovation, professional excellence, and meaningful contributions to the profession.
As Practice Group Leader of Lewis Rice's Environmental Compliance Practice Group, Christian advises clients on environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance, enforcement, infrastructure development, and government contracting. More than a decade as an attorney in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General's Corps and his LL.M. in Government Procurement and Environmental Law from The George Washington University Law School give him a unique perspective on complex regulatory and transactional matters. His experience shapes his practice group’s approach, guiding clients through the legal complexities of development, public-private partnerships, and regulatory risk.
“Clients rarely come to me because they want an environmental law lesson,” Christian said. “They come to me because they have a deal to close, a project to build, or a regulatory problem to solve. My job isn't just to explain what the law says or point out problems — it's to help clients solve them and keep moving forward.”
Beyond his environmental law practice, Christian counsels clients navigating federal, state, and local government contracts, applying hands-on experience gained through his service in the Air Force. He is also an active mentor to Lewis Rice’s junior associates and a frequent speaker at national conferences on environmental compliance issues.
Christian was recognized during an award ceremony on August 20, 2026, at The Maverick in Kansas City, Missouri.
