Pamela E. Barker Reflects on Being First Woman Elected as President of State Bar of Wisconsin
September 22, 2021Lewis Rice member Pamela E. Barker was elected in 1993 as the first women president of the State Bar of Wisconsin and paved the way for the many women proceeding her. Pam remembers the significance of milestone, and has now witnessed four more women presidents in the two decades since she served. Now, with all six officer positions for the State Bar of Wisconsin being held by women for the first time in its history, many are reflecting on the efforts it took to get to this point. Pam is a national leader of the bar in environmental law, and she is the past Chair of the American Bar Association's Section of Environment, Energy and Resources. Additionally, Pam is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, she serves in the House of Delegates for the ABA, and she is a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL). Her practice focuses on assisting clients with the environmental aspects of real estate and corporate transactions, and with regulatory compliance.
