For many years, the Firm has represented prominent nonprofit charitable, cultural, and educational institutions.

We have extensive experience in all aspects of federal, state, and local taxation of all types of nonprofit organizations, including charitable, religious, and cultural organizations. We have assisted in the establishment of many tax-exempt entities and in obtaining determinations of tax-exempt status under the Internal Revenue Code. We have assisted not-for-profit organizations in monitoring and avoiding unrelated business taxable income and in reducing state and local property and sales taxes. As a result of these and other representations, we have an in-depth understanding of the tax and other legal issues that may arise in connection with the operation of tax-exempt entities.

Our Firm is in the forefront of the use of Irrevocable Insurance Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts, and Family Limited Partnerships to reduce estate and gift taxes.
