Ronald A. Norwood Has Received the St. Louis Business Journal’s 2014 Diverse Business Leaders Award
September 23, 2014Lewis Rice litigation partner Ronald A. Norwood has been selected to receive the St. Louis Business Journal's 2014 Diverse Business Leaders Award. This year's Diverse Business Leaders awards recognize 17 local professionals working to promote diversity of race, sexual orientation, and disability in their field. They were recognized at an Awards Luncheon on September 12, 2014 and in the journal's September 12 issue.
Ron is chair of the Lewis Rice Diversity and Inclusion ("DAI") Committee. The DAI Committee is charged with redoubling Lewis Rice's commitment to providing equal opportunity for all. As Chairman, Ron spearheads efforts designed to foster diversity, which has included the implementation of the Firm's Proactive Outreach Program (POP), designed to target diverse attorneys for employment at the Firm.
Underscoring the Committee's commitment to fostering diversity in our communities, Ron facilitated the broad-based community outreach program, which resulted in the award of scholarships to diverse college students and a financial contribution from the Firm to the City of Ferguson's business restoration efforts. Thanks in large part to the efforts of Ron and the entire DAI Committee, the Firm is proud to have had the most diverse Summer Associate Class in 2014 and to currently have the most diverse mix of practicing attorneys in the Firm's history.
In his wide-ranging legal practice, Ron represents banks, insurance companies, product manufacturers, school districts, various other businesses, and business professionals in a myriad of litigation matters throughout the country. He is an adjunct professor at Washington University in St. Louis, an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association, and a member of the American Law Institute.
