The article, Commercial Lease Diligence, focuses on the due diligence activities and rationale of counsel to a potential purchaser in an acquisition transaction.
Many merger and acquisition transactions involve leased commercial property as part of the real estate holdings of the selling entity. Attorneys should be ready to advise clients for both the negotiation of the purchase agreement and for the client's use of the property once the transaction has closed. The article examines the necessary steps for the purchaser's counsel with respect to leased commercial property.
