Sonette T. Magnus Presented at a Fireside Chat During Corporate Counsel Women of Color’s Career Strategies Conference

Lewis Rice member Sonette T. Magnus delivered a virtual fireside chat to members of Corporate Counsel Women of Color during its 16th annual Career Strategies Conference on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. Corporate Counsel Women of Color supports women of color attorneys in general and outside counsel roles and facilitates networking events to promote career advancement, success, and global diversity in the legal profession. The Career Strategies Conference virtually brings together women of color for empowering presentations on leadership, management, health and wellness, and financial strategies. Larry Turner, partner at Morgan Lewis in Philadelphia, PA, interviewed Sonette about ways to promote diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, including retention of diverse talent and the importance of community service to one's career.

Passionate about giving back to her community, Sonette serves as general counsel to the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, which strives to empower African Americans and others throughout the region in securing economic self-reliance, social equality, and civil rights. Sonette also serves as Canada's Honorary Consul in St. Louis, a role in which she works to advance trade between Missouri and Canada in strategic areas such as agriculture, goods, services, and energy.
