Ronald A. Norwood Calls on Black Leadership to Support Harris-Stowe State University

Lewis Rice member Ronald A. Norwood, and current chairman of the Harris-Stowe State University Board of Regents, wrote an op-ed piece in The St. Louis American calling for support of Harris-Stowe by the St. Louis community at large and black leadership across all sectors. Ron’s article is a response to criticism levied against Harris-Stowe in a recent op-ed article published in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Ron provides facts to support his position that the transformative strides made by this historically black University under the current Board leadership - that include its collaborative and innovative partnerships with various national and local businesses - justify wide-ranging support for the University. Ron, who also serves as chairman of the Lewis Rice Diversity & Inclusion Committee, underscores the importance of black leadership protecting and rallying around the University, and its administration, faculty, staff, and students, to help promote the school’s mission of providing quality, affordable, higher educational opportunities for all in the St. Louis community.
