Lewis Rice Supports Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis at Recent Food Distribution Event
July 11, 2020On Saturday, July 11, attorneys at Lewis Rice, together with the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL) and others within the St. Louis legal community, donated $100,000 to the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis and volunteered during its food distribution event held at the former Jamestown Mall in North St. Louis County. The donation will help fund the Urban League's COVID-19 relief effort, and the event served an estimated 3,500 families in need. For more than 100 years, the Urban League has worked to empower African Americans in the community by "securing economic self-reliance, social equality and civil rights."
Lewis Rice member Sonette T. Magnus serves on the board of directors for the Urban League and initiated the donation with the help of Firm Vice Chairman and Litigation Department Chair Richard B. Walsh, Jr.
