Lewis Rice members David B. Lemkemeier and Michael T. Donovan and associate Ryan C. Furtick collaborated on an article for the St. Louis Business Journal on Opportunity Zones. The article discusses in detail the major tax benefits for individuals and investors of these zones in low income census tracts. 

Opportunity Zones, enacted as part of the 2017 tax reform, are designed to encourage investment in low-income communities designated as qualified opportunity zones (QO Zones). Missouri has 161 opportunity zones, with 41 being in St. Louis.
