David W. Sweeney Tapped to Lobby for Privatization of St. Louis Lambert International Airport

Lewis Rice member David W. Sweeney is among a handful of Missouri-based lobbyists hired to persuade St. Louis leaders and airport officials to participate in the privatization of St. Louis Lambert International Airport. In April the Federal Aviation Administration gave approval for the city's participation in the agency's Airport Privatization Program, allowing St. Louis to begin negotiations with private entities interested in leasing and operating the airport.

David Sweeney is the former chief legal counsel for the St. Louis Board of Aldermen. In his private practice, he focuses on lobbying, governmental and finance matters; municipal and public law; government affairs; zoning, land use, tax increment financing, community improvement districts, and other development incentives. David's experience ranges from drafting and overseeing implementation of legislation regarding tax increment financing, community improvement districts, special business districts, transportation development districts, and property tax abatements to representation of governmental entities in a variety of real estate development and finance matters.
