Michael D. Mulligan Publishes Article in ACTEC Law Journal Comparing Sales to an Intentionally Defective Irrevocable Trust and a to Beneficiary Intentionally Defective Irrevocable Trust

Lewis Rice member Michael D. Mulligan published an article in the Summer 2021 edition of ACTEC (American College of Trust and Estate Counsel) Law Journal. ACTEC Law Journal is a high-level academic journal that explores tax, trust, and estate topics in depth, and discusses the consequences and applications of the rapidly changing rules in these areas of law. The article examines the sale to an Intentionally Defective Irrevocable Trust (IDIT) and to a Beneficiary Intentionally Defective Irrevocable Trust (BIDIT) and argues that a sale to a BIDIT should be a successful estate planning strategy.
