Lewis Rice attorneys Pamela E. Barker and Melissa G. Powers along with Brann & Isaacson partner Ben Lund co-authored "The Remotest Idea: Practical and Ethical Lessons Learned During the Pandemic" for the American Bar Association (ABA) Probate & Property Magazine, volume 36, number 5. Probate & Property is bi-monthly magazine designed to provide lawyers with up-to-date, practical information regarding real estate, wills, trusts and estate planning to better help serve clients. In the article, the authors discuss practical steps required to work remotely for an extended period of time, as well as the potential ethical issues posed by remote work.

Pam is a national leader of the bar in environmental law, and she is the past Chair of the American Bar Association's Section of Environment, Energy and Resources. Additionally, Pam is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, she serves in the House of Delegates for the ABA, and she is a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL). Her practice focuses on assisting clients with the environmental aspects of real estate and corporate transactions, and with regulatory compliance. 

In her information technology practice, Melissa regularly negotiates and accounts for software licensing arrangements. She advises clients on SaaS-based and other service agreements, in respect to technology licensing and development arrangements, as well as hardware and software transfers and equipment purchases. In her cybersecurity & data privacy practice, Melissa helps companies mitigate the risk involved with collecting and sharing personal data. She advises on compliance and best practices for data management and incident preparedness and provides critical legal counsel in the immediate aftermath of cyber incidents. Melissa also designs and implements privacy and security programs.
