M. Cory Nelson is a member of the Firm's Litigation Department, where he assists clients in a wide array of complex commercial litigation matters at both the trial court and appellate levels. His recent experience includes representing financial institutions and creditors in both class action and individual litigation involving complex contract disputes, False Claims Act litigation, and claims brought under various consumer protection statutes, including the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act, and the Kansas Consumer Protection Act. Additionally, Cory has recently represented clients in construction litigation, insurance coverage litigation, guardianship litigation, and various types of contract disputes, while his past experience includes representation of employers in connection with employment discrimination claims, representation of accounting firms in class action securities litigation, representation of insurers and insureds in complex insurance coverage matters, and representation of private equity firms and other institutional clients in connection with contract disputes and other commercial litigation.
Before joining the Kansas City office of Lewis Rice in April 2010, Cory practiced in the Dallas office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP.
