Covering News During Contentious Times
On Wednesday, February 24 at 6:30 p.m., Lewis Rice member Joseph E. Martineau and local journalists look into the issues and practice of covering news during contentious times. The St. Louis Press Club is hosting a webinar discussion to explore if local media are facing more friction and barriers to doing their jobs than in the past. The panelists will discuss how to build trust, whether there is a need to report differently, and when speech crosses a line.

Joe focuses his practice on media and communications law, and his clients include local and national major media representatives. He has tried cases in both the state and federal courts in Missouri and Illinois, and he has argued cases in the appellate and Supreme Courts in each state. Additionally, Joe teaches a course on communications law as an adjunct professor at Washington University.
