Managing the Cannabis Business for Credit Unions
September 13, 2019 – Heartland Credit Union Association Annual ConferenceThomas M. Martin and Joseph E. Bant provided an overview of the current status of marijuana laws in the country and Missouri and provided credit unions a look at legal and practical business implications of a credit union member engaging in a medical marijuana cultivating or dispensing business. The attorneys explored the unique issues related to credit union compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, member due diligence, and insurance coverage.
