Beyond the Law

Emily is an active member of the community through her volunteer work and Board service. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of St. Louis Fashion Fund, a board-driven non-profit that serves as the leading voice and advocate for the fashion industry in St. Louis and whose mission is to promote job creation and economic growth for the region.

Emily also serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors of the St. Louis Guns N Hoses Boxing Association, whose mission is to provide funds to The BackStoppers, Inc., which supports the families of first responders killed in the line of duty. Every year on the night before Thanksgiving, a team of more than 200 volunteers executed Guns N Hoses’ annual charity boxing and MMA tournament at the Enterprise Center in downtown St. Louis.

In addition, Emily serves on the Board of Directors of the Amanda Luckett Murphy Hopewell Center, which provides comprehensive mental health services to children and adults in the northern and central parts of the City of St. Louis and North St. Louis City. A professional mental health staff serves a growing caseload of 2,800 patients of which greater than 95% are chronically mentally ill and suffering from major psychiatric disorders.

Emily has also been a member of the Community Advisory Board on Early Education for Nine Network since its inception in 2018. She serves alongside others in the St. Louis community with a passion for quality early childhood education to provide input to the Nine PBS Board of Directors about station programming and community engagement.

In addition to her Board service, Emily also provides pro bono legal services to local artists and creators through the St. Louis Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts.
