Biography
Charla M. Claypool serves as Practice Group Leader for the Advertising, Promotions & Social Media practice group. A member of the Litigation Department of Lewis Rice, Charla focuses her practice in the areas of intellectual property and advertising, promotions, and social media law. She has significant experience advising clients on legal issues related to advertising, endorsements, loyalty programs, and consumer promotions, including issues involving conduct of such initiatives via social media. Additionally, Charla frequently assists her clients on intellectual property transactional matters, including drafting and reviewing mobile application development agreements and crowdsourcing agreements, as well as legal matters related to cloud computing and data management. Charla routinely offers guidance on a variety of copyright and trademark issues including ownership, registration, infringement, and licensing, as well as privacy and publicity rights issues.
Prior to returning to Lewis Rice, Charla served as legal counsel for Whirlpool Corporation in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Charla was selected by her peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers® for 2024-2025.
