Brian P. Pezza Discusses the Fair Labor Standards Act with the St. Louis Business Journal

Pezza was featured in the St. Louis Business Journal's Table of Experts to discuss recent updates to the Department of Labor's overtime regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). These new regulations double the minimum salary required before an employee can be considered exempt from overtime for hours worked beyond 40 per week. Brian and the two other panelists discussed how employers, managers, and HR professionals should prepare for these updates and potential penalties for those employers who fail to comply by December 1, 2016.
Additionally, the panelists discussed special circumstances such as employees receiving non-discretionary bonuses and commissions, working remotely, or working on call.
