In two recent cases, Lewis Rice attorneys continued to deliver success for their clients in Missouri’s appellate courts, winning affirmance of victories in lower courts.
In Mercy Hospitals East Communities v. Missouri Health Facilities Review Committee, Lewis Rice attorneys Richard B. Walsh, Jr., Evan Z. Reid, and Anne R. Kerns successfully represented Patients First Community Hospital before the Missouri Supreme Court. The Supreme Court affirmed a lower court’s interpretation of a crucial regulation governing the construction of new hospitals in the state. The opinion was issued on April 14, 2012.
In Roberts v. BJC Health System, Lewis Rice attorneys Andrew Rothschild and Evan Z. Reid helped client Reconstructive and Microsurgery Associates move towards the conclusion of a nearly eight-year legal battle with plaintiffs complaining of medical overbilling. Summary judgment was granted before a class was certified and the Missouri Court of Appeals Eastern District affirmed the judgment on May 15, 2012.
